I didn’t think it could be done, I thought it was impossible, but alas the impossible has become possible. I’ve never ever EVER beat the 1st Ninja Turtles game made for the original NES back in the and I never believed anyone when they said they did. The game is insanely possible and I will never play it again.

That being said, while wondering around YouTube I found this amazing video. What is the video you ask? Well my friends, it’s a video of someone destroying the 1st Ninja Turtle game. Not only does this person beat the game, HE BEATS IT IN UNDER 22 MINUTES!!! Yes, I was as shocked as you may be. I sat and watched the entire video on Christmas afternoon. Watch the video and be amazed. Guy or Gal, whoever you are in this video doing the impossible, you have my undying respect. YOU ROCK!

Until the beta of the Opera Browser for the Wii comes out, I have to find something to get excited for right? I’m on the verge of beating Zelda, I’m burnt out on creating Miis, I can’t watch DVDs, and I can only do so many picture puzzle games. Apparently when I get home from work tonight, I will be greeted with a lovely message on my Wii from Nintendo stating that I can now update my Wii to have the Forecast Channel to play with. From what I can see in the video, there’s enough here to keep me entertained for at least a few weeks. (Or at least until the browser is released December 22nd.) Watch the video and see tell us what you think. More impression of the new feature in the future.

[UPDATE: Ok so the fun of the Forecast channel only lasted me 15 minutes. 8 of those minutes was me in the shower, but hey at least it's free right?]

I keep reading these stories about people breaking their TV’s, punching their significant love ones in the face, or even chattering light fixtures all because of the Nintendo Wii. Are you serious? Are these people just attaching their Wii-motes to their wrist, then proceeding to swing their arms violently as if to say, “Hey! Look at me! I’m a monkey, I’m a monkey!”? How insane do you have to be to break the strap on your Wii-mote?

The fact that Nintendo had to actually go to the public and tell everyone to calm down is just mind-boggling to me. The fact that there’s this website is even more bizarre! I for one will not be getting my strap recalled because it’s never going to break; I hope otherwise I’ll look like an idiot. So to everyone who has damaged their face or electrical appliance with their Wii-mote I have two words for you, CALM DOWN. Games are to be a release from your stressed filled lives, not an excuse to put a hole in your wall or to take a trip to the hospital!

Last Note: ID Ten-T: Write down each letter except use ten numerically instead of with letters. I have had to explain this too many times at work and this is the last.

[UPDATE: As of December 12th, 2006, my 360 has been sent back to Microsoft for "repair". Let's see how long it takes to get back in my hands.]

I received my pre-ordered Xbox 360 December 7th, 2005 and I haven’t had problem with it at all. I use to brag about how I got a launch system and that it hasn’t given me one problem yet. Sadly karma punched me in the chest December 6th, 2006 because I got the deadly RING OF DEATH on my console last night. Well it was more like 1/4th the Ring of Death, but it was death for the box nonetheless.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, last night on Monday Night Football the first commercial for Halo 3 aired. I didn’t get to see it on tv but I knew it would be on YouTube and of course I was correct. It’s only a minute long but it’s awesome. I never been pumped for a game so far in advance in a long time. This is why I bought a Xbox 360. Granted I’ve gotten some awesome games thus far but it all leads up to this game….Halo 3. Enjoy the commercial. Click more to proceed to that which is awesome.

img_0140.JPGEveryone buying a Wii this holiday season will receive a free packed in game by the name of Wii Sports. Wii Sports is a title with five mini games including baseball, boxing, tennis, golfing, and bowling. Wii Sports also takes advantage of the Mii characters you create by importing them into the game.
I was one of the few lucky enough to get their Wii early on launch day and up until Thanksgiving Day, I really didn’t play Wii Sports at all. The first time I really got into it was with my family and let me tell you, this game is great with friends and family members to play with. We went through all the games, even Wii Golf, but the one we enjoyed the most was Wii Bowling. The first couple of games were awkward because we were all trying to get use to the controls of the game, but once we picked that up it was smooth sailing from there. My family ended up playing bowling for 4 hours that night! The next day when we were just sitting around watching TV, my Dad picked up the Wii-mote, turned on the console and began to whoop some butt in Wii Boxing. I was happy to see my family enjoying the Wii and it made the purchase of one even more awarding. I’m pretty sure that I can persuade my parents into getting one this Christmas for themselves.

In my eyes, by yourself, Wii Sports is a mediocre game at best. But when you get your friends and family members around playing together, it turns the console into a very emerging and interactive form of entertainment that can be enjoyed by not only hardcore gamers but also casual gamers alike. In other words, GET A Wii!

The title says everything. Just press play and enjoy!

Hi all! The past month has been an exciting month in the game world and in the world of Lawn Of The Month. We have a few surprises in store for the site and we have some pretty sweet reviews including games like Gears of War, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, and we will have an in-depth look at the Wii as a system and quite possibly a revolution. I will also post about my over night stay to get my Wii. Stay tuned to developing insanity.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingI said that I was going to do a video review but I’m lazy, with limited time so I decided to go the more traditional approach. Let me start off by saying that I’m not the biggest fan of games where I have to sneak around everywhere and I know a lot of people are with me when it comes to this. I have also played one installment of this series and it was decent at best. I love the MGS series and I don’t care if I watch more movies then I play during the game.

With that being said, SC:DA is awesome! I’ve only played through the training courses and all the way to the 4th level so far, but I already know that I will be playing this game at least one more. (and for me, that’s saying a lot.) Already I have been faced with a difficult decision in the game which shapes the type of ending you will received and for my first play through I will be doing everything bad as possible. Innocent victim? I have to shoot them? Consider it done. I will give you a quick insight of why I love this game so much covering controls, story, and visuals/gameplay.

Controls:

The controls took me a while to get use to but after about 30 minutes to an hour in training they became really second nature to me. Sneaking around the everywhere isn’t so bad and it all becomes natural after you get the hang of it. If you have never played a Splinter Cell game before, don’t worry, you’ll pick up the controls in no time.

Story:

In my opinion, the story is awesome so far. Basically, you have to gain trust between the good guys and the bad guys. The game will face you with decisions sometimes that will piss off the good guys, thus gaining trust with the bad ones and vice versa. This twist to the game not only drives the different endings you can achieve but also changes the way you play the game. I can’t wait to see all of the moral decisions that Ubisoft has come up with to make the player thing hard before acting. This part of the game alone excites me because it means extra replay with extra endings which is a big plus in my book. And yes, I said excites me.

Visuals/Gameplay

If you haven’t seen a video or screenshots of the game, do yourself a favor and do so. This game looks amazing to simply put it. For me to be excited about a game it must meet three simple criteria: 1. It must be fun, simple as that. 2. The controls must make sense for the game. 3. It must look good at best. This game plays good out of the water! I can’t wait to get a HD-TV this fall to see SC:DA in all it’s glory.

I’ve only touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this game and I can’t wait to start it up and get into it some more. I’m also looking forward to the multiplayer experience it offers. If you haven’t planned on paying any attention to this game, I urge everyone to at least rent it and see what you think. Like it our not, Tom Clancy games are awesome for next gen.

Sorry for the delay in posting some new material but Nate and I had to…well you know…work. But new stuff will be coming shortly including a unboxing of the Wii (when it comes out) and possibly a video review of Double Agent for the 360.

As a child growing up in the 80’s/90’s, the teenage mutant ninja turtles became a huge part of my Saturday morning rituals right along with a big bowl of Captain Crunch. I was lucky enough to have a NES while growing up and then Ultra Games decided to release a child’s dream: TMNT for the NES. Wow did this game suck! It was the hardest game ever and I have yet to meet someone who has beat this game! Hell, I even rented the game genie and still couldn’t beat it. Here’s a video by a somewhat famous guy by the name of Angry Nintendo Nerd. He’s pretty funny and I totally related with the video below. Enjoy. (Beware the vulgar language. NSFW….unless you have headphones.)
